It is part of our survival system, an instinctive response that helps us recognize when something is wrong and motivates us to take action.
Psychologically and physically, anger triggers changes in the body: faster heartbeat, muscle tension, increased blood pressure, and the release of stress hormones like adrenaline. It can be expressed in different ways:
- Healthy anger: Assertively communicating feelings, setting boundaries, or making constructive changes.
- Unhealthy anger: Aggression, violence, or bottling it up until it harms mental and physical health.
- Passive Anger is often hidden, unexpressed, or denied. It may manifest as sarcasm, silent treatment, avoidance, or internalizing things. The problem is that it can build up over time and eventually explode, or cause stress, anxiety, and resentment.
- Aggressive Anger is expressed outwardly in hurtful, hostile, or violent ways. It includes yelling, insults, intimidation, or physical aggression. The danger when it comes to anger is the damage it does to significant relationships, trust, and can even lead to legal or safety issues.
- Passive-Aggressive Anger is a mix of both passive and aggressive anger. It is shown through subtle behaviours like backhanded compliments, procrastination, or intentional inefficiency. The effect of this type of anger is the confusion, tension, and mistrust it creates in a
- Assertive Anger (Healthy Anger) is a controlled, respectful, and constructive expression of anger. Focuses on the issue, not the person, for example, “I feel upset when my boundaries are crossed, and I’d like us to talk about it.” The benefit of Assertive anger is that it promotes the formation of trust in relationships, making problem-solving easy and respect maintained.
- Chronic Anger is a long-lasting, simmering resentment or bitterness; it's often linked to unresolved trauma, injustice, or negative thinking patterns. The danger is that it can harm mental and physical health (stress, high blood pressure, depression).
- Volatile / Explosive Anger is an intense, sudden outburst of rage. It can go from calm to extremely angry very quickly. The risk is to the damage it does to relationships and personal well-being.
- Anger often stems from a mix of psychological, social, and biological factors. The difference emanates from our expression and management. Anger is caused by different factors:
Internal Causes (Personal Factors)
- Unmet needs (e.g., lack of attention, respect, or love).
- Unrealistic expectations of self or others.
- Low self-esteem or feelings of inadequacy.

- Stress and fatigue, and lower tolerance levels.
External Causes (Situational Triggers)
- Frustration (e.g., traffic jams, long queues, delays).

- Environmental stressors (noise, overcrowding, financial pressures).

The cost for virtual and physical therapy is the same, and our client can interchange the model without any penalty. The therapy session can be One-on-One, Joint/Couple, or Group therapy. We are a prepaid honest center, and once payment is made, it is reserved for a therapy session. It does not matter how long the client takes to be available; you cannot lose your money while in our system.
