Terminal Illness Management Counselling in Kenya

Understand there’s no right or wrong way to grieve, including anticipatory grief. It’s like the ocean. It ebbs and it flows. There can be moments of calm. But out of nowhere, it can feel like you’re drowning.

Dana Arcuri.

The stability I had previously taken for granted was replaced by the pain that arrives when you learn that someone you love is going to die. It was a deep sense of foreboding, a bodily knowledge of things to come that you would do just about anything to avoid.

Marisa Renee Lee.

You matter because you are you, and you matter to the end of your life. We will do all we can not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die.

Dame Cicely Saunders.

Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows.

Pope Paul VI, Italian Pope

  • Do you have elderly parents who are ailing? Or a significant other who is living with a terminal illness?
  • Have you ever thought of what would happen if they were not more tomorrow morning?
  • What information do you need to have, but you do not seem to have it or access to?
  • What is the succession plan looking like? What do they have? Where are the documents, and who is the estate manager?

  • How many secrets have you kept from everyone in your family on investments made in the form of shares, parcels of land, secret bank accounts, etc.?
  • What would happen to all this property if you were to encounter sudden death?
  • Do you have a secret family that the other family does not know? Are you aware of the drama and court battles that await your family on the day you will be no more?
  • If any of these statements resonates with you, you may need to book a therapy session and seek guidance from a therapist.
